Super MAGFest 2023 Recap and Highlights
almost 2 years ago – Tue, Jan 10, 2023 at 05:55:04 PM

Our first Super MAGFest was a lot of fun! Such a cool way to start the new year! While we were there, we took some pictures and videos so please take a look if you want to see a few a highlights!

Me and Alan at our booth!

 Some highlights of the experience:

  •  We got to meet in-person and have dinner with some long-time game developer friends of ours! I can't stress enough how supportive these folks have been to us in our game-dev journey so meeting them in person was a truly special experience. 😊🤟
Good food with friends, doesn't get much better than that!
  • We got to showcase Shrine's Legacy to a surprising number of people. We started with 500 business cards and almost ran out! 😳
It was really cool watching people play in co-op in particular!
  • Met at least one of our Kickstarter backers and one of Alan's friends from online who also backed the game! If you're reading this, thanks so much for visiting the booth! 🥰

  • There were lots of cool games being shown off, and it was really cool getting to talk to some of the developers on board!
Geo Mythica
EMIMLIVE: Chroma Quest
Quartet and My Familiar
WrestleQuest

...And many more!

  • Lastly, I'll close with some of the cool cosplays and merch we saw!
Didn't get any merch this time, but I was reallllly tempted by the FF6 figures!

As much fun as it all was. I'm definitely happy to be home now, it was a long week! But it was totally worth it and a valuable experience. For me personally this was:

  • The closest I've been to New York City and Washington D.C. and the furthest I've been from Indiana
  • The closest I've been to an Ocean
  • First time (probably) eating sushi with raw fish in it (I did not get sick) 😅
  • Third time staying at a hotel
  • And undoubtably more worthy notes that I can't remember

In case you still want to see more, I recorded a walk around the MIVS indie game section. It's just one small part of the whole MAGFest experience (this convention was massive) but it's where I spent the most time.

Thank you very much for reading; I hope you enjoyed this highlight reel! 😁

Until next time,

Joseph
